Written entirely in German, this 266-page account book contains the records of an unidentified merchant operating in Wartburg, Tennessee.

A journal written in German with entries and enclosed papers dating 1834-1873.

These thirteen small notebooks, written primarily in German, contain daily lists of purchases or sales with prices. The three notebooks in English list groceries and dry goods. Some notebooks also include grids with monthly tallies.

These family papers consist primarily of correspondence, much of it in German, from Fritz Miller's brother-in-law Carl Gustav Bunge. Other items include letters from German relatives to Mary Ann Miller, Fritz's wife, and from William Miller to his future wife, Nola Brittain. Also included is genealogical information, primarily about Mary Ann's family, the Fallensteins.

This letter written by Richard Wagner was sent to his publisher concerning an upcoming publication for which he needed a copyist. The letter is in German but contains a transcription.

The collection contains a single letter, written to Johan (?) Graf from the Stifel & Pfeiffer Brewery in Nashville, Tennessee (January 15, 1873). The letter appears on the brewery's letterhead and is written entirely in German. The contents concern a (potential?) business deal and the price of selling beer to and in Knoxville.
